ANTI-INFLAMMATIONS FOR DOGS AND CATS

ORAL TABLETS

       INGREDIENTS: Each 200 mg tablet contains:

Prednisolone……………………5 mg

INDICATIONS:

Respiratory tract disease: asthma or respiratory tract infections.

Arthritis.

Skin disease: skin disorders, allergic dermatoses, relieves itchy skin and swelling caused by allergies.

It is required as a supplement in the adrenal gland disorder, Addison’s disease. 

Irritable bowel syndrome.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Dosage totally depends on your dog and what your vet thinks. So there are not going to give you anything specific. The general dosage practice is to give:

Dogs: 0.5 – 1.0 mg/ kg

Cats: 1 – 2 mg/ kg

Doses should be given as single or divided doses initially and then tapered to every 48 hours.

WARNINGS:

Pets with systemic fungal infections, certain types of mange, stomach ulcers, Cushing’s disease, high blood pressure, kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes or heart disease should not take this medication. Pregnant and lactating dogs should not take Prednisolone. Dogs who are allergic to Prednisolone or similar medication should not be given this medication.

This drug is FDA-approved for dog use. However, it it common practive for veterinarians to prescribe such drugs for use in cats.
