Injectable Solution

INDUCE LABOR AND STIMULATE MILK RELEASE AFTER DELIVERY

INGREDIENTS:

Oxytocin…………………………….. 10 IU

Excipient qs………………………….. 1 ml

INDICATIONS:

As an aid in the treatment of the following conditions in cows, mares, sows, ewes, dogs and cats:

• In dystocia due to uterine inertia.
• In evacuating tissue and debris from the uterus in cases of pyometra or endometritis. For preventing or controlling postpartum uterine hemorrhage.
• Uncomplicated agalactia in sows. To stimulate milk let-down.
• To induce labor. To accelerate the process of normal parturition.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

By intramuscular, subcutaneous (I.M, S.C) injection. The following dosages are recommended and may be repeated as needed.

• Cattle, Horses: 2 – 5 ml/ head.
• Pig, Goat and Sheep: 1 – 2 ml/ head.
• Dogs, Cats: 0.5 – 1 ml/ head.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

• Unopened cervix, mechanical contraceptive pathways fetal distress.
• Unable to latch in natural way, avoid using infertility with Oxytocin in infertility, contamination of pregnancy, eclampsia or cardiovascular disease.
• The animal has a history of hypersensitivity to the drug.

DRUG INTERACTIONS:

• Do not combine Oxytocin and Cyclopropane will lower blood pressure.
• Do not combine Oxytocin and Dinopreston can cause uterine muscle tone Oxytocin slows the anesthetic effect of thiopental.

SIDE EFFECT:

• Anaphylaxis, arrhythmia, post partumhemorrhage, vomiting nausea.
• Excessive or hypersensitivity to drug can lead to increased muscle tone, cramping, tetanus contractions or uterine, rupture, fetal distress, asphyxia and fetal death, soft tissue damage, hemorrhage due to amniotic fluid.
• Encoumter in young or newborns: bradycardia, cardiac arrhythmias, braindamage or central nervous system.

Withdrawal period:

• For meat: 03 days.
• For milk: 02 days.
